I always had it in my mind the RT was some fatty 320kg thing. Checking today I see 280kg. I suppose once one adds the panniers it's around 300kg. Harrumph.

I believe that the R1250RT weight (279 kg) includes the standard luggage set of two panniers. I asked about this when I was interested myself, however as I couldn't find one without the TFT instrument panel I gave up on the idea, as this was something that I definitely didn't want on a bike (or, for that matter a car!).

How about a 1250RS instead? 243kg wet. And cheaper.
Although if you spec it to a sporty level it comes out around £18k, not £15k.

I did actually ride the RS and the GS back to back before buying the GS. Although in a year or two I imagine I'll be trying all 3 new versions :).

Flatfour: that's good to hear the weight is all on!

Although, if you're going to spend £18k, then lose 10kg, add 40bhp, and get a SD1290GT!  :winkthumbs:

Oh wait, that's what I did! :D

After going for a ride yesterday I'm back liking my bike again :)

You know, until I get a double garage.
