Utter tosh
« on: September 18, 2018, 12:08:39 pm »
I was just reading through the 1250RT blurb that BMW just emailed out, here:
https://www.bmw-motorrad.co.uk/en/models/tour/r1250rt.html
(It's 136 BHP by the way, David - still too weedy)

And there was a link to here - some customer 'portraits':
https://www.bmw-motorrad.co.uk/en/wear/spezial.html#/section-makeitspezial

Not a single shot of someone astride their bike. Plenty of stylish clothes though, eh.
Utter tosh.

Hah! Also poor design where "read more" makes just a couple more words visible. At least on my phone. Poor show!

And yeah, if I hadn't emptied my sarcasm bladder at the "business manager" just now I'd have more to say!

Ha - wonderful phrase, Matt!
Would like to have been there. Many's the time I've done the same - in the same company :-)

It's rare that that business or manager describe their ragbag of 'competencies'.

There are a fair few photos at the bottom of the page showing it one up and two up.  ::)

I know quite a few people that have them and love them, and are looking forward to the extra power. Surprising that just changing the colour to red and striped makes it look so much more agile. Not really my cup of tea though, even as a K16GT rider.

True, Belco. I meant the lifestyle bullshit. I have no objection to the bike!

 ;D ;D ;D

Get what you mean. Harley started it and now with BMW bikes you are "Buying an Adventure" despite using it for commuting around the M25   ::)

Triumph are the same and the Japanese are also getting in on hte act.

All true. Although I guess I was suckered in to buying the 175 BHP lifestyle, and probably only use about 120 of those!
But at least it gets used a bit.

And I can rest easy that BMW wouldn't want a portrait of me on their bike, making it look like a weedy 125cc.  ;D

I 'think' and 'hope' you were using a fair bit more than the 120 when I've been behind you on occasion. Either that or mine is only running on two...
