Note you can change your vote as your mileage goes up.

(If you no longer have the bike, you can still vote, but there's only one vote)

I think Martin was interested in the higher mileage vehicles so you might want to extend the higher mileage choices Rich.

Done!

No harm in adding your ex-K, Rae. They all count.

As the insurance company hasn't yet paid out on mine, I assume I'm still allowed to vote!
Correct rear brake use is scientifically proven to shorten stopping distances in EVERY road situation.

Maybe I need to do a 'At what mileage did your K self-destruct?' poll.

For the con-rod through engine type of failure, rather than deer.

Then we might get a (very crude) gauge of reliability.

Well Martin "over 75,000" covers everything to destruction. You can just let us know when yours blows up  ;) or becomes an uneconomical repair.

You might be the only one admitting it....

And of course you are allowed to vote David, the sudden drop off in daily mileage doesn't count against you...

True. That would require a 2D matrix poll - miles v year, and place your tick in the correct box in the spreadsheet-like poll.
Not going to happen.   :P

Still waiting for a middling mileage bike to appear. Mine went to Poland at 36k, but I've already polled for my newer one.
Maybe there's a crisis point at 29k where the good ones sail through, and the 'bad' ones crumble to dust in front your very eyes.  :o :o

I sold my 2004 K12S with 42,000 miles on the clock and running more or less perfectly...

Bearing in mind its history (airbox and Idle Control Valve, shock rebuild, new throttle bodies, two lots of ball joints at 18,000 miles, paint falling off the wheels etc. etc. etc.) it was sort of OK.

My previous 09 K1300S I sold at 35,000 miles. It had a new radiator, new front suspension unit that replaced a leaker (still got the old leaker), new head bearings and cantilever bearings. An expensive bike to maintain.
