For Sale / Wanted / Re: Wanted - K1300s Aftermarket End Can
« on: May 25, 2020, 11:48:54 pm »
I have a stainless (with carbon end cap) Quill T3 race can (no cat) with removable DB killer and link pipe. Bought a couple of years ago from Belco100 on here. Im currently working nights and its in the loft, so once ive finished my shifts (Wednesday) ill dig it out and get some pictures on here. £100 + postage.
Its quite loud without the DB killer fitted, which my mates travelling behind me says sounds awsome as the revs rise, but not droney.
I changed to a full carbon MIVV as my K is black and carbon/grey which looked better than a stainless can sparkling on the side of the bike.

Update:-
Think ive sorted it.
After buying a new kill switch/starter switch (£143!!) and still having the same problem, figured its got to be a short somewhere, so started to strip everything back and start tracing through the wiring loom. Found the small + wire that comes from the starter switch to the starter coil twisted around the thick main + that goes to the starter motor and looked like it had vibrated and worn through the insulation. This then meant it could energise the coil, pulling the contacts together for the big thick cables, and try to start it. Also on further investigation after knackering another starter coil, found part of the starter coil had got very very hot, so pressume it had been energising it as i was riding, thus draining the battery. Just waiting for a new genuine bmw starter coil/relay to come so i can verefy what ive just said. As ive bought a new starter switch, but actually checked out ok, i think im going to fit it anyway, just to be sure, and also the original red starter button had gone a fetching shade of pink.
Thanks for the tips guys, c u soon

I visited Central Car Paints in Leicester on the bike before I took it apart. He was very helpful and colour matched the driveshaft casing against lots of colour swatches. Finally deciding on a mixture of 2 BMW colours. Made up a rattle can, and OMG perfect match, and also went on a treat. The label on the can reads....BMW A36 BD 0407 Base Pearl.

No sealant needed, just make sure the engine and top cover mating surfaces are clean and dry. As for inner gasket, not sure what you mean but I didn't change any other gasket.

No not in any gear, always after I've pulled up and in neutral. Yes I've got a fuse block thingy, you supply it with a permanent live, neutral and a switched live, then you choose how you want each accessories to be supplied, ie phone charger, bike dash cam, inforad etc.
I've had these accessories fitted for over a year, no trouble.
Are you saying these are the culprits?

Ok see if anyone can help out with this one. Pulled up at a petrol station, removed key, opened fuel cap, and bike tried to start, as in started motor started to crank engine. Took key from filler cap, turned on bike, starter stopped cranking. Filled up as normal. Did this intermittently since. Replaced starter motor relay and kill switch (right-hand switch module), both from bmw. Still does it, any thoughts as to next option?
Thanks

Hi, I stripped off radiator, removed top cover and all looked ok. Was tempted to cleaned all faces and rubber gasket and refit but bought new gasket. Built back up and all has been fine, done about 5k miles since and no leaks.
Hope this helps

Hi, id be interested in the exhaust. I assume its the one where both ends are carbon? And the main body of it is like a gun metal grey (not shiny)? Would you happen to know if its got a CAT inside like the original or just straight through? What condition/any scratches/dents?
As for price, would you take £150

« on: January 10, 2019, 12:44:31 pm »
The newer straps are a lot easier to use than the old ones. I have them fitted to my S and have left them fitted underneath the seat. You can also use the 2 anchor straps that are built into the seat, which un-hook, so you only need 2 of the Kreiga straps. I've also used the Kreiga straps around the rear grab handles in the past. Basically you have lots of places you could attach the straps to, so get them, and you won't be disappointed, I love them, best money I've spent in a long time, also you can take them with you when you change the bike and fit them to another bike, win win.

My wife found herself moving about at the rear too, so I fitted a Triboseat cover to her portion of the seat. She swears by it, and can't recommend it enough. £13.99 off eBay.

Am I right in thinking that I can give my bike full throttle when pulling away and not Wheely?
I remember reading somewhere on here about disconnecting something at the throttle bodies that allows you to get full power in 1st and 2nd.
With that in mind, if I keep it connected and traction control on, can I then pull away and give it full throttle?
Why I ask is on a recent trip with my brother in law on a fireplace, he wanted a drag style race from the lights, but I was a little nervous about how much I could open her up, fearing pulling a Wheely, I backed off a bit.
Anyone tried giving it full beans from standstill?

Looking good, have you got any pics of them out on the bench?
Whats the final price, all in inc postage?
