Saying my hello's
« on: May 08, 2018, 09:44:29 pm »
Well I'm the proud owner of a K1200s. its an 06 with 20 thou on the clock.

I'm from the preston area and can normally be found at the local meets.

So far I've done:-
the rear shock (How much fookin work is that !!!) ( oh and the boys at firefox racing big thumbs up )
the cam chain tensioner. (get rid of that rattle hopefully).
corbin seat and smuggler (best Ebay bargain ever £250)
the wheels candy apple red mmmmmmmmmm.
and the whole bike is getting re-painted as i type......(due to being pinched before i even sat on it!)
denali sound bomb .... get out the way biatch !!!!!!!
And got an oberon clutch slave on the way (see if i can sort out the snatchy bite point)..
And lots of other bits and bobs just to make her my baby.

So yo, hello and howdy do, looking forward to posting my pennies worth,

Martin

And, a welcome to you from an ex K owner. There are some decent members on here with vast experience of all things regarding the K bike. Just ask and it will be provided (within reason). Like the sound of the colour scheme especially the wheels. Piccies please.   ;)

The jump guard was done on the recall (BMW's cheap ass plaster of a fix..) you think they would have given the updated tensioner, but nooo, lets just charge us poor sods £118 for their mistake..... fookers !

I thought the tensioner was (eventually) part of the upgrade seeing as it was the root cause of the chain getting loose in the first place.

My K12's jump guard was done early in the process and I paid to have the tensioner done at the same time; about £70 from memory. Eventually the tensioner was included and BM re-imbursed me for the cost. Long time ago mind.

They do a new style tensioner which has a little oil tank reserve on top of it, bought this one over the counter when I got my service done and if there was a way to get it on recall, I would have, but they definitely wouldn't. Where even going to charge me £35 to fit it.

That was the one they refunded me for. There have only been two types, the shite one and the one that works; taller is how you tell.
