Akropovics
« on: June 18, 2015, 02:36:28 pm »
Fitted a set of Akropovics exhausts today got them at a great price off a guy from another forum, they look fantastic and sound even better than stock , not necessarily louder but definitely deeper.
Also fitted a taller screen from a GT SE as the stock sport screen was giving me tinnitus, bigger screen is much quieter. :)

Nice looking pipes. I think they really suite the K16 but are a bit pricey.  I got a set of AC Schnitzers, which are re-badged Remus. Unfortunately, other than looking good none of them really add much go.

only paid £700 for the exhausts and a GT SE screen. pictures to follow.
And i would disagree with the sound from the chart above it is deeper at but no louder.

Have you tried them with the Baffles removed?  When I got the Akra fitted to the GS recently at first I was a bit disappointed, noticeably quieter than the stock exhaust, yes a bit deeper maybe and about half the weight, but then I removed the baffle ;D  Still not too offensive but much deeper and a proper bark when you gas it.
Isnt it Ironic, no its a BMW what dya expect.

I've had a number I'd pipes on my K first time I have ever done such an exercise in all the years I've been riding a bike and quickly learned that not all pipes are the same did something similar on my 660 and found the same Akra's are league better than anything.

Believe that exhausts are a matter of personal choice. At the same time we cannot argue with test results fm a certified lab. My personal choice is ZARD.

I have the baffles out on my AC Schnitzers. Nice sound, not too loud. I also had an accelerator module (BoosterPlug type device) left over from my K13GT, which was really easy to fit on my K16GT so I stuck it on. Seems to have smoother pickup, and also "blips" better when changing down through the box.

AC Schnitzers are simply a retailer and a custom made work shop. Their exhaust are currently REMUS with different design and logo.
