...and thought 'Oooh!' The way you do.

They do almost everything to do with lifting, jacking, turning, rolling or spinning things up and round and I want one of everything please, especially the Rotisserie!

Bought exactly the same years back and just never used it, can’t fault the the theory of its use but in the end was far happier working off a nice warm comfy garage floor, sold it to a mate early on in the year.

What? It isn't the photo you buy you silly boy. It is the lifting, twirling, sliding, spinning things.

From a practical point of view...try standing up and holding a rear wheel when trying to bolt it up...was always much happier being closer to the floor, probably why most of the time I had a bike stored on it but never used it.

Having just fitted new discs and pads to the front of the S3, a lift or even adjustable ramps would have been a godsend; there comes a time in most folks lives when the old joints just don't like being crunched up for half a day and as for crawling underneath to position a trolley jack...

I realise my wrists are now a limiting factor in ground level maintenance and have various leverage stuff to help to get the wheels back on. Whatever happened to wheel studs where you stood a pretty good chance of getting the wheel lined up on the first go? Now, with the bloody bolts it can take half an age to get the great heavy thing on the hub stub and then try getting the holes aligned...

It was even a struggle to get the enormous discs back on. No one ever said old age was going to be fun, but I was thinking they meant you could get to your nineties before it all went south.

once upon a time i struggled to get up of the floor , now i also struggle to get down to it!
my garage floor is not nice, warm or comfy... i still want a lift. i have a two post for cars but cannot figure out a good way to adapt it for bikes as well.
there are a few of those rotisserie yokes about here (big escort country) all various grades of home made, but the star of them all has used an old single speed gearbox to turn the car round.. one hand and the car stops when he stops. its pretty impressive.
anyway i still want a lift.

Just one of those things that you have to spend your money and see if it works for you, had mine must be close on maybe 10 years?,at the height the bike had to be for me stood upright never felt all that stable, and hold a wheel at that height while trying to fit, turned into a 2 man job.

If you buy, make sure you get the security bar that you put through scissors rather than risk hydraulics with all that weight on.

What happened in the end, foam tiled the floor of the garage but bikes and gear sank into them, so boarded the floor out on top with decent ply wood and finally arrived at a happy medium

Keep an eye out for friends, neighbors and relatives getting new carpet. Their old one is probably fine for the garage floor, even in sections.

Yeah half my garage is carpeted now. Though that's the brewery half .

Viz Top Tip:
Grab the initiative and tip a little red wine on it next time you're round, post-Covid. They'll soon chuck it out.

I dread to think what sort of bodily fluids other folk have left in the cheap nylon carpets in my upstairs so I wouldn't want to lie on it in the garage...
