I'd be grateful for the thoughts of the cognoscenti on this:
The sound of my standard, OEM, silencer changed noticeably quite suddenly as if a baffle had been removed. Also, the bike is not as smooth as it was below 3000 rpm, reminding me of how it ran when I had a Remus Revolution  fitted. After a run, looking down the pipe from the outlet, I can see the catalyst glowing. It is possible that this has always been visible but I have never noticed it.
I removed the silencer and there is nothing rattling or loose inside it and the honeycomb surface of the cat looks OK from the inlet end.

I did wonder if a mixture problem had overheated the cat but no faults were detected by the GS911.
However, the lambda sensor's plot looked to me as if it might not be performing as well as it might. Some peaks were in the "rich" region and being repeated before dropping between the acceptable limits. A new lambda sensor, followed by a TPS reset, improved the look of the plot but didn't improve the throttle response below 3000 rpm.
Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

I know that this subject was briefly mentioned previously but I have a specific query. Some folks on here and on other forums say that the K's handling is greatly improved with a 55 section rear,but I wondered if anyone had consulted their insurance company before making the change. I'd like to try the 55 but would not want to make an undeclared modification because of the potential opt-out by my insurer. I don't think that such a change appears in the standard modifications list used by most companies but someone may know otherwise.

I've noticed that several posts, at first glance, appear to be simply the attachment of someone else's post in a quotation box. Closer inspection reveals that the new poster has added his own comments, but also in the quotation box. I assume that this is operator error (now waiting for some Demingite to chime in that there's no such thing!) but even Obersturmbannführer Phmode has managed to do something similar and he knows his way round the forum as well, or possibly better, than anyone else. Coul a clever techy person please find a way of ensuring that new posts cannot be added to existing posts and quoted comments?
