I have the string type, used 3 times successfully and also the stop and go plugs, not used so can't comment on them. I had a puncture in Belgium a few years ago and the angle the offending item went in meant nothing would work so recovery especially abroad is a must.

As advised on here I got the medium.  It's looks too big but once on it it's great. I left it on for the whole trip including twisties without problems.  As said not for everyone and doesn't do anything for the bikes looks.

Oh yes. Made the mistake of over inflation,  that was weird.

Just got back this evening from a trip to Luxembourg and then a few days putting the bike and me a through some spirited riding on the excellent roads, all done in comfort with the airhawk. Got to say it is a revelation and should have got one sooner. Not saying it's gòod for everyone but it's great for me. I followed the excellent advice given and barely had air in it but once seated it's bliss.

I got a call yesterday from the Bmw dealer saying my deal had 8 months left and have I thought about changing. To be honest , yes. But after a change of tyre from the M3 it is the bike I tested.  Today the kick in the backside when winding the throttle open at any speed is addictive.  Being short in the leg my options for a good bike is limited and even at 58 (nearly) I still want and crave a bike like this even with its shortfalls. The only options for me are a ZZR1400 or similar.  I may as well stay as I am.

I've just got back from a 150mile round trip with breakfast and short stop at Newlands in between so hardly a descent test, but using the lower seat it brings the height nearly to standard and it felt great. A week tomorrow is Luxembourg so more info then.

Recived the cruiser medium airhawk today and just tried it on standard seat. Looks a little to big and throws me further forward but I will have to play around with the amount of air. But the aim is to use it with the lower seat on Luxembourg trip coming up.

K1200 / K1300 Forum / Weight limit on bmw soft bag rack.
« on: August 20, 2018, 04:37:24 pm »
Does anyone know the max weight the bmw rack can hold. I want to use a the 50litre soft bag instead of panniers and small bag. It won't be rammed full just clothes for 4 days, water proof, spare gloves, puncture repair kit and litre of oil.

Did a bike safe course a few months ago and the only mention by the PC was he could hear my gear changes. Any instructor commented more about sons akropovic on his 125.

If you want more fuel for your money fill up on a cold day, but it won't be a lot. It does make a difference when filling a plane with 170000 litres. 😁
