Handy French government petrol prices website, that’s also good at finding where they are.

Thanks for the "heads up". With the Old Gits trip less than 3 weeks away this is a bit of a worry. I hope they get things sorted PDQ.

The Euro K Club Lounge / Fuel shortage in France

We are currently in Deauville and, having just arrived thought that we would refuel tomorrow ready for the journey home on Thursday. Unfortunately this might be difficult as apparently both local filling stations are out of petrol and also diesel.

I was told that the problem is widespread and due to refinery strikes, although I cannot confirm this.

Apparently, in the outskirts of Paris, some 60% of filling stations are dry.

Obviously, if you are coming over research things properly yourself, however hopefully a little advanced notice might be helpful.

I've had it for a few years, so not the current version, but it's a 4 channel PicoScope automotive oscilloscope. It's a Box that you connect to a laptop PC with a USB cable, then there's a PicoScope Windows application.

Excellent idea. Glad I thought of it...

So, what is your 'scope? Is it a dedicated one or some sort of app-based thingummy? We should all have one anyway.

Just playing of course. But the idea was to get a waveform while it was working so I'd have something to compare with at a later date.

Did the expensive replacement 'racing dash' fit both the 12 and the 13? If yes, then it would suggest all the inputs are common to both bikes thus the dashes are interchangeable.

If you need a cluster from BMW to replace the original, you have to give your bike’s serial number. They won’t send you one without it. They have to match your ‘package’ that came with the bike. So I’m not sure how successful a cluster from a different model and year will be.

...and with scopes costing peanuts these days I wonder why we don't all have one.

What were your results or were you just playing?

The displays are different for sure but as to whether the cluster will fit and work is anyone's guess unless Martin fancies stripping both his 12 and 13 down to give it a go.

The rubber button on the dash is the most fiddly thing on god's little green earth on the K13, from memory the switchgear on the 12 was less so.

I can't remember off-hand the sequence for the trip zero'ing on the 12 but I would make sure that you are pressing the thing properly as mine (a 13) really doesn't respond to a gentle touch.

The gauge is a well-worn problem but my first job would be to check the connector to the pump to make sure it is seated properly and there are no chafes on the wiring.
