If you are of a nervous disposition do not watch this video it contains very graphic content.

While  Melanie is away with the stepdaughter and the grandchildren I've snuck away for a cheeky one nighter.
I bet Tom Yates will know where this is.

Tyres / Pirelli Angel GT2 North America
« on: July 31, 2023, 02:39:35 pm »
I have just read an interesting comment on one of the American FJR forums. Apparently Pirelli no longer sell the Angel GT2s in America, when emailed Pirelli confirmed it but gave no reason.
This sounds like a subject for Rich to get his teeth into  :winkthumbs:

I have taken advantage of the long standing Bennetts Bike Social discount and bought a Garmin Zumo XT with a saving of £92.50
which in anyones book is a real bargain. I had a Zumo 660 some years ago and thought it was a bit of a sledge hammer to crack a walnut. I have been a long time Tomtom user and get on with it very well, but there were a few features of the XT that interested me. Namely the announcing and non announcing route points or soft and hard points, also the soft points are called shaping points. It's still early days and I have not used it out on the road yet. I have done a lot of reading over the last couple of days now my brain hurts. I am interested to see how it behaves when you go off route so I have plotted a local route that I know and I intend to go off route to see what it does. I'll keep using the Tomtom Rider 550 until I am up to speed with the Zumo XT.
Wish me luck.

Hello Euro K Clubbers
I just want to gauge the interest for Wrinklies Chasing the Sun 9 for 2023.
This is the first Monday in June which for 2023 will be 5th June.
For those that have not been before this is a three night trip where on the Monday you make your own way to the start point and we stay the night. Tuesday we ride to the next destination and have another night of food, drink and frivolity. Wednesday off  to the next destination with rinse and repeat Monday and Tuesday’s frivolities. Thursday make your own way home.

If this is of interest to you please reply in this thread. If I get some interest I will start planning routes and finding hotels.

I was thinking maybe start in somewhere like Weston Super Mare wriggle our way through Wales and across to Shrewsbury and then maybe somewhere like Skegness or Cleethorpes.

All route and booking details will be here in post # 1

Route 2 Click Here

Route 1 starts in Western Super Mare and wriggles up through Wales taking in the fantastic A483 from Crossgates to Newtown and beyond at the right time of day to avoid the misty mornings. Some of you will be familiar with this road if you attended the Welsh Wramble, and cutting across to our destination in Shrewsbury.

Route 2 heads from Shrewsbury up to Macclesfield and on to take in the famous Cat & Fiddle, then through Derbyshire continuing east skirting the Lincolshire Wolds and ending up in Sunny Skegness which might involve ice cream  ;D

Route Download links These are links to MyRouteApp if you need the routes in other formats or have any problems please let me know.

Route 1 Download Set your device to include motorways.

Route 2 Download Set your device to avoid motorways. One thing to note on this route, there is a toll bridge but it's free to motorcycles.

The routes were planned for Tomtom .gpx Garmin routes can be downloaded from MRA. It's always a good idea to set coffee, lunch, petrol stops and hotels as favourites incase we get separated where we will wait at the next stop

I know this is not relevant to canbus bikes unless you have wired in some accessories but many of us have cars where it may be relevant.

« on: September 27, 2022, 01:16:45 pm »
Any excuse for a trip across the channel, I am off on Monday 3rd to French France again with Mike W for a few days.
St. Omer is once again our first stop, followed by Reims and ending with Berck and then a stop over near Cambridge on the way back. This will be my fourth trip to France this year, I must be making up for the lockdown years  :D
