Prompted by Jacks' Hill cafe being removed from the 'Places to Eat' map, here are couple of replacements, sort of nearish but to the west:
Gilks' Garage CafeA far nicer place to stop than Caffeine & Machine, but small. Still run by a Gilks, 4th gen. Go out round the back for the additional seating.
Often frequented by vintage bikes and cars, as well as modern ones since it's an old Rootes garage.
Long Itch DinerBit more rough and ready, but there are always bikes there, and the fried breakfast looks good.
Look out for the possible mobile speed camera if leaving north towards Coventry -
just 500m north in the lay-by. It's downhill and you'll definitely exceed the 30mph limit even if you entered the village exactly at 30mph!
