Belated Introduction
« on: April 15, 2022, 01:28:45 pm »
Hi all,

With the gentle reminder of Rae, I'm finally round to introducing myself on here.

I bought a Lava Orange 2010 K1300R from Ian (panman on here) in 2019 after lusting after one ever since they were released. I recall visiting the Motorrad stand at Goodwood Festival of speed and immediately wanting one. Absolutely love it and can see it being a long term keeper. I've done ~6000 miles on it, although that will probably slow down now I've also started driving and no longer need to ride year round.

I've had quite a few BMs along the way.

F650GS Dakar
R1100SS

Current - K1300S, G450X

Welcome Tim! Tell me, seeing as I'm not interviewing you for a job, are you a young fellow just having passed your driving test, or an older gentleman who just decided to get a car, like I did a few years ago?

I've always loved the lava colour and almost had one as my first K were it not for Alton deciding my F800 actually did have piston slap.

Where abouts are you? I'd forgot BMW made the G450X. Long legs needed yeah?

Anyway: photos!

Somewhere inbetween, although I suspect I'm still a young'un to most at 28. I'm in Manchester, although I get over to the Isle of Man fairly often as I have family over there.

The G450- yes, a bit long legged, although it's so light you can always lean to a more approachable height!

As I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everybody is impossible, but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake.

Lovely - Orange is my favourite colour too. Never managed to get an orange one though.

28, eh. If you haven't got backache yet, you're still young.
Which is a Good Thing.

Hi Tim,
Glad to know that you still have my old K1300r  this would have been my forever bike but for hip and knee problems after many years of road racing. New hips  knees and a replacement pelvis soon required not much chance of the last one though. Please keep on enjoying this superb bike.
Regards

Hi Tim, and welcome. Good choice of bike although I see you've gone for the slowest colour! ;)
