All 20 places allocated. Trip fullAn early "heads up" for those on the EuroKClub site.
The details of the 2023 trip are now finalised and booking for the trip has started. In 2023 we will visit Italy, and more specifically the lakes and the Dolomites.
The dates for the trip are Saturday 17th June to Sunday 25th June, giving us 2 days to get to Italy and 2 days to get back, with 6 days to enjoy the wonderful roads with many well-known passes including Stelvio, Gavia, Tonale, St. Gotthard, Simplon and Furka to name but a few within easy reach.
Schedule for the trip is:
Morning of Saturday 17th June 2023 - Cross the Channel - Eurotunnel
- 1 night in Hotel Florimont, Saint-Ferréol, France
www.hotelflorimont.com/en/hotel.html - 3 nights in Hotel Rosa, Baveno on the shore of Lake Maggiore.
www. hotelrosabaveno.it/?lang=en
- 3 nights in Hotel Lady Maria, Fondo in the Dolomites.
www.ladymariahotel.com/en/ - 1 night in Hotel Arcis, Gomaringen, Germany
www.hotel-arcis.de/en/ Evening of Sunday 25th June 2023 - Cross the Channel - Eurotunnel
There is the option to get the Eurotunnel on the evening of Friday 16th June and stay overnight near Bethune, France for those who'd like the trip to start a little earlier.
The numbers this year will be fixed to the 20 spaces reserved at both of the main hotels in Italy. Those spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis so booking early if you want to join us is recommended.
The total cost for the 8 nights in the hotels, single use rooms, parking included, B&B (half board in Fondo) is £775 (based on current GBP/Euro exchange rates). Channel crossing costs will be additional to this and will likely take the costs to around £1,000. Likewise, a hotel stay on the Friday night will be additional and likely in the region of £75 - £85.
If you'd like to join in but would prefer some alternative "there and back" options, then those can be discussed.
Booking will require a £250, non-refundable deposit. This will be allocated towards the costs of your trip when you attend but will not be refundable if you drop out before the trip. As ever, I don’t make any profit on the Old Gits trips so the money you pay reflects the direct costs of your trip.
If you have any questions or would like more details, then please let me know.
