Single Malt

Finding this thread has made me realise what a cultured lot you are!  My wife and I have for years loved Aberlour A'Bunadh, buying it in Waitrose at around £45 a bottle. Then the price doubled overnight due to the distillery realising people actually drink the stuff.   So we moved onto Glenfarclas 105 which is also lovely stuff! Nothing like a good cask strength to add a touch of water too and sit back and enjoy the smoke and smooth afternotes.  Oban and Jura also go down nicely and the occasional Laphroigh or Lagavulin.  I used to do whisky tasting at my local, so got to drink a very wide range of single malts, an experience I'll treasure.  The wife only drinks good stuff, so that is my excuse for only buying drinks that we actually enjoy.

Sounds like you know what you like! I'm still on that journey, though since going into all grain home brewing every time I look at whisky I think, "I could buy 25kg of grain for that!" :D

Which is a ma zing...

...if you keep chickens ::)

Matt:
Luckily chickens are just as happy with spent grain, so we can all win!

Grain - not good for best egg production:
"Cereal grains are not a replacement diet for Poultry Layers Pellets."

Here endeth the educational supplement. Anything to avoid whisky. :o
