Is Belgium a country then?

Nice one  ;D

...
If I remember correctly, according the the Top Gear team (Clarkson, May, Hammond) it is a country invented so that the UK and Germany has somewhere to sort out their differences! ;)

Well, I don't think Clarkson is the most intelligent man around but that time, he was mainly right ! In case you don't know how we were "created" (!) ...

The French, the Germans, the Russians (!) and the Brits (and probably the Dutch too, but with less authority) were arguing around 1800 - 1830, to whom (historically seen) belonged that piece of land on the North Sea. So to avoid a big conflict, we were created as some kind of "buffer zone" to keep the big boys apart. Yes, you could say we were the "useful idiots". But then again, at least we know we are idiots - I leave it up to you to classify people who consider the left side of the road ... the right side of the road  :winkthumbs:

I assume you are referring to countries that didn't succumb to the short megalomaniac Frenchman who spent most of his time fiddling with his own nipple? :D

You've gotta love it when someone from the EU can trash you in your own language.

Oh, I agree, but at least we have one. Maybe Belgium has one these days, but managed to survive for years without one...

I was out for a while and continuing to read this thread, I realise how lucky we are thought to be with our beers. Which is about the one thing I can't dispute.

But then I also see you're mentioning our fries, the name of which was nicked by the French : "French fries".
You also mention the Ardennes, which have deeper potholes in the roads than their hills are high.

And then I'm totally puzzled : which one of the governments are you speaking of, Brian ? We have 6 of them (and we could even have had 7 had we "wanted"). The net result is that we have more legislation to block each other than we have legislation to share things with each other. How lucky we are when there's no government at all  ;)

Of course we all know that a Vincent had a side stand on each side. Ask Ron.

Thanks Tom. I thought I had better read through the posts first, glad I did.

I think to two stands were more for  supporting the engine when taking the front end off.
Its not always the destination that counts its the ride, having a destination just stops you going round in circles.

To change the front tyre - or literally remove the whole front end?
A-built-in paddock stand, in effect?

I think you could strip the hole bike away with the engine on the stands and I guess the rear supported somehow. I think I still have the handbook somewhere. If I find it I'll  look it up.
