Interestingly, (or not) your ex-whoopie cushion was out on loan to another member last week and he is off to buy one for his botty he was so impressed  ;D

Here and there, in Triumph land. That whoopie cushion is a collectors item as Airhawk no longer make the Neoprene ones, only the cheaper Polyurethane versions.

Small issue after road test.  I cannot get the sensor on the quickshifter to work. Needs to be reading at least 45 on the upshift but can only get 7.   Tried moving the sensor at both ends of the shift rod.  Pictures attached to explain.   

Any suggestions?

Ghost from the past here. Dave RTFM, the sensor needs to go under the bolt on the shift arm, where no 10 is on your diagram.  If your sensor readings are still a bit low, just give the bolt another 1/4 turn.  I fitted one of these to my Tiger Sport, its brill

Blimey, at last, someone with a bit of sense. I was thinking 650 Vstrom or similar though, ok 700GS if it must be a BM, but come on guys.

Yes, I'm looking for firm absolute answers though to be fair. I could also suspect that everything is there but just not enabled on this model requiring only hardware and some connections and enabling at the dealer Etc?


I am 100% confident in saying that a stock 1300S quickshifter will NOT work. The gearshift control works the other way round (on upshifts GT pulls down , S pushes up). Yeah ok, if you can change the gear control housing/ levers and graft S footrests and gear lever on then I suppose its possible. My advice, buy an S.

Oh, and that was before I saw Costas reply ref electrics, so that should seal it.

Anyway, there is one thing that has been bugging me about all this, and thats the plastic fuel plate/thread. On the Triumphs the fuel pump plate is metal, but here now you have a metal thread going into plastic and Im not too sure about that, not that Im overly worried as I dont have one ;D

Shoulda gone to SpecSavers then. That explains why he is nearly always closed when I dive in as it is nearly always a Monday  ::)

The guys at beemerboneyard specify that the kit fits the K12/13S and all the parts are there apart from the ring but they are in the US and want $55 to ship to UK. I've found the male elbow here in UK but not the male to female adaptor. As you say we don't know the thread size in the pump housing.

I've already posted the details and proces of the CPC 90 deg connector. What I haven't found is the male threaded bit to go in thefront of the tank and the reinforcing ring. The kit from the US is the all-in-one solution we need.

Uhh??  The US kit shown in the link above has the two fittings a hose clip and an o ring plus some sealant. As I said, yes somebody needs to work out the size of the male thread.  The reinforcing ring is a separate part and OK, no idea about that.

As for the Steelhorse, these are the opening times from the website, though I do know that Fin does have a habit of closing early if its really quiet

RS Components, Tigers suffer the same issue, but you will need to check sizes and thread type.  I know the Tiger sizes but not the BMW ones. Lots to go through but I reckon they are there somewhere. Colder Products Company (CPC), is what you want to search for if you want to try finding other suppliers if the below dont have the correct sizes.

Yep, my GT got the ACF twice yearly and at 60K miles and 3 winters no corrosion anywhere (Ok, thats not quite true, the 2nd Final Drive had started to bubble slightly, but thats another story)
