What little credibility I had
« on: August 05, 2018, 06:50:47 pm »
Started my new station this morning at 7am on a Sunday 20 miles to travel and hardly anything on the road so I’m taking full advantage of the National speed limit big grin on my face and then I thought ‘this is just like Tom Cruise in Top Gun going to his new posting on his GPZ’ yes I can imagine  Brian’s eyeballs rolling upwards and the rest of you shaking your heads reading this heh heh..... if this doesn’t get Brian to ban me I don’t know what will😁😁😁

A perfect time & day for commuting. And on a perfect bike.
And the temperature will be a spot on too.

Good stuff Ady!

I had a 900R before Top Gun came out, loved it. The passing resemblance of my (red) K1300s colour scheme to the old GPz in no way influenced my choice. Probably.

I had 3 of them in my time. The last one was an A7 which had a maaahoooosive 150 wide rear tyre and a 17" diameter front wheel up from the 16"

I had a GPz 305 once. What a pile of crap that was! Put me off Kawasakis for life. The 25 year old Norton it replaced was far more reliable. The Norton is still in my garage but the GPz was scrapped a couple of decades ago and good riddance

305's were a nightmare, especially top ends, cams and followers were very short lived. When I worked for Kawasaki we hated them :D

My mate Nick brought a blue and silver GPZ 900 when they were being made new and took me for a spin on it, for the time early/mid 80’s it was unbelievable the white lines in the road started to join up with the speed and it felt like an age before he eventually used the brakes for irritations like junctions and other motorists heh heh 😁

When i was an unruly youfffff before i got into bikes. We used to go to the Goat House pub in South Norwood on a Wednesday night to see the live band and one of our friends bought the GPz900 new and used to entertain us with wheelies up and down the streets after kicking out time at 11...

You couldn't do that today... The damn traction control steps in  ;D
