Yeah, I saw that. Quite a scoop, but a little too far for me on a School Night  :-[

KTM far been fantastic in GPs this year, and lots of rumours that LCR are going to become a KTM next year, making six bikes (which I think Dorna will block).
There are already 8 Ducatis so I don't think they could refuse a couple more KTMs. Or at least, if KTM get a 'no' then they'll have to play fair and drop some Dukes - and that's going to happen. We'll be heading back to barely-filled grids again, just like 2010 or thereabouts.

The problem is how to re-engage with the Japanese factories. In all series.

And possibly also how to re-engage with (aging) riders since MotoGP is just a step too far from a usable road bike now.
Maybe run a sports-tourer race series to include FJRs, Ks, H2SEs, GSX1000GT and KTM 1290. Mandatory panniers, like the Harley Bagger races, and minimum weight of say 300Kg bike & rider combined. Real world racing.  :P

Having seen a brief bit of the bagger racing Harley thing it was pretty amusing and surely would be a very cheap add-on series. Sports tourers that is, not racing stone age bikes.

The fact that KTM don't even retail a traditional sports bike is pretty funny.

Although maybe if they did that they'd accidentally highlight the issues at least German manufacturers seem to let slide for multi generations of bikes. "Oh dear, it looks like Geoff on the super duke has had an MTC Failure appear and has pulled over. Meanwhile Barry on the GS has pulled over and is now ranting about how much engine and final drive paint has fallen off. And oh no, the whole grid have stuck exhaust flaps! Red flag! "

The BSB F900 R racing is fun. They do have a problem with clearance on the left side, but details.

Just missing a pair of Sports panniers.

I went to Portimao at the start of the year for MotoGP - £180 for the ticket in the main Grandstand for the weekend. I know it's not apples with apples, but for WSB for the same seat is £75 including weekend Paddock access.

And they are wondering why MotoGP numbers are dwindling  :-\

I’ll hold my hands up and confess that I’m not not telling all,I’m hear in my real name and what’s the expression? Never bite the hand that feeds you’ and under normal circumstances I’d pick the phone up pleas poverty and a 2 person 3 day full hos would turn up, so this year has come as shock, only have time to go Friday so it is what it is.

I received an email today from Triumph motorcycles offering me a Friday/Saturday/Sunday ticket for £110 at the coming MotoGP at Silverstone. Much cheaper than £180 but still too much for this pauper of the parish!

That's how much they are for 3 days anyway:

Very generous of Triumph. :winkthumbs:

Bob Hoskins appeared on my TV once and offered me a BT line at the normal price. I thought he'd decided it was good for ME to talk but turns out he was a talking slut and did it with everyone and anyone!

So it costs 65% more to watch a MotoGP in Portamao than it does at Silverstone?

... only have time to go Friday ...

I was in Austria last year and right by the Red Bull Ring on MotoGP weekend on Friday but heading home on Saturday - No Friday only tickets available there, you needed to buy a 3 day ticket to get in  >:(

£35 a head on friday and £10 to park a car which we will probably do cuz our days of walking around in all our clobber are long gone, the reality Silverstone are in the process of shooting e’mselves in the foot, most folks actually I’ll refrase that, most bikers won’t pay, their getting confused with the bloody daft F1 lot,and my mine motivation is I’ll not be here 20 years from now,and if I am probably showing little interest in over priced Silverstone,so we are going ….we’ll hopefully if we managed to survive the buying ticket process.

Great day out at Silverstone today, and the speed of the MotoGP bikes never ceases to amaze me, but what does is getting in,and for thoses without the correct car park pass, it’ll get towed away.

Just thank god CFMoto aren't in 1st place yet!

Just missing a pair of Sports panniers.

I rode an F800R when I was on the cusp of GS purchase and trying everything they had. I imagine it'd be awesome fun on Brands indy circuit. I.e smaller circuits.

Thanks heavens for the Suzuka 8 hour,at least Honda won’t be out slashing their wrists tonight after the Silverstone debacle.
