Back in the club!!!
« on: March 21, 2018, 12:26:50 am »
Well, I never really left, as I enjoy hanging around here, but I have been bikeless for several months now....

...until tonight!

I have just (ie I got back 5 mins ago) picked up my new 2014 K1300S!

She's an ex police bike, so I'll be finding holes all over it I guess, but hey, it was cheap, and plastic panels can be replaced!

Welcome back again.  :) Didn't know the boys in blue ran the 1300S in their fleet. Just enjoy it.

She's an ex un-marked plod bike. Still has holes in pretty much every fairing panel going though. Will be interesting to see if there are any other issues due to it being ex-plod, especially the electrics.

Plus, it does feel odd, riding an ex-police bike. Bit like sha**ing your worst enemy's ex....

In a twisted kind of way, I might well get round to liking that feeling!

How sweet is that. I thought it was real for the first few seconds. If they'd drilled the discs, I would have been hook, line and sinkered.

Almost photographic quality in places, like the rust on the tail pipe before the silencer... :o

Essex plod used them extensively, as seen in Police Interceptors. Way too much fun for a company bike if you ask me.

I'm surprised it has holes in panels. I thought the whole point of the unmarked bikes was that they had tiny LED lights as opposed to all the fairground illumination of the full-dress ones. If the holes are neatly cut a handful of blind grommets would be my cheap and simple solution. You can even get coloured ones...

...to be more discrete about it.

Servicing should have been spot on. I've seen lots of marked bikes in BM dealers for servicing and repairs.

Either way, glad you are back flying the flag  8)
