Assuming you do get the radiator swapped, it might be worth keeping the old one, and seeing if the crud can be softened/removed.
It will much easier to do that off the bike.

Secondhand radiators do have a value, clean or not. Possibly to me (especially if a 1300GT radiator fits an 1300S - do they?)

If it as a warranty replacement then I think they would have return it to HQ if not then they are keeping your property.
Its not always the destination that counts its the ride, having a destination just stops you going round in circles.

We've already covered the warranty issue, it's not covered under warranty.
I just couldn't be bothered to chase them up.

The bikes' back brake seized up two miles from home today, leaving me stranded. I think it's time to say goodbye to it.
I've only had it ten weeks and was just bonding with it. I covered just over a 1000 miles in that time.To add insult to injury the dealer accused me of riding with the brake pedal on.

The back brake issue could be a stone stuck under the pedal

I think, that it could be a good idea to let the dealer have a go. It might be teathing problems for me.
It's is going to be BMW dealer only from here on in though. I'm no mechanic, however I do know when someone is trying to fob me off.
I will report back.

Me neither, but spot on.
Once the rad and brake are fixed, give it a month's grace - you may well fall back in love with it...

Got my bike back today. The dealer repaired the back brake and cleaned the radiator,so I will see how it goes over the next month. At least they acknowledged that it was a dirty radiator and didn't charge labour . They only charged for a new set of brake pads.
Where can I buy a fender extender?

Gazillions of them online...plastic, carbon etc.

However, be warned, they can foul the tyre at the sides of the extender, the extra weight of the extender can make the whole mudguard flex and this can have two consequences.

First and merely irritating, is a constant chirruping from the front end as the extender contacts the tyre.

Second and more worrying is that the front mudguard can crack up in the acute angle at the top of the guard. This can happen even without the extender mind.

Good that the dealer cleaned the rad. I hope you check to make sure it was done thoroughly...

I clean mine once or twice a year. I take the covers off, get the vacuum cleaner on it, then I use a plant sprayer with distilled vinegar in it and give it a good soak for an hour or so. I then give it a rinse and wash it with bodywork shampoo. After that or any bike wash it gets sprayed with Scotoiler 365.

My K13S had one of those on when I bought it and it was razor sharp along the bottom edge where it had been honed on the tyre, almost sliced a finger off when I first cleaned the bike.

Needless to say it came off after that and got binned.

I notice that Ilmberger make a carbon front mudguard for the K1300S. Shame that they don't make a long one which would be the same as a standard front mudguard with the Fenda Extenda fitted.
As I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everybody is impossible, but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake.
